Biomedical technology and complex signal processing

• Integration of sensors in clothing, orthopaedic devices, etc.  (Embedded Sensing)
• Real-time biomedical signal and video editing
• Development of platforms for data transfer and storage of (bio)medical data
• Ambulant and longitudinal monitoring of biomedical signals

Motion capture

• 3D-motion capture and analysis (gait analysis, sports, ergonomy...)
• Dynamic 3D topographic scanning (49 frames per second), scanning of areas of the body, e.g. foot, face,...
• Dynamic foot pressure measurements

Computer simulation

• Strength and stiffness calculations for biomedical applications (finite element analysis)

• Musculoskeletal simulation of the effect of ortheses and prostheses

Design and construction of biomechanical and biomedical systems

• Robotic simulations with i.a. artificial feet, shoes, orthopaedic appliances
